3 WEEK COURSE ON PINNACLE

 

Frank Moulds will start a 3 week course on Pinnacle on Tuesday 23d September for 3 weeks. Time 1.00pm to 3.00pm. Notes will be included on a  CD.
 

 On the 3rd week  you will be asked to bring your photos and music to the class on a DVD and Frank will show you how to make your own show, similar to the demo previously held at the office by Frank. 
 

The cost of the course will be $50.00 to be paid at the first lesson.


If you have a laptop with the Prog already installed you are welcome to bring it along and do the course.

                                         5 WEEK COURSE ON PUBLISHER 2003

Peter Watson  will be commencing another 5 week course on Publisher 2003 on Tuesday 16th September 9.00 am to 11.30 am. The course will be in the range from basics to an intermediate level in the fundamentals of graphic art.


Basic computer skills are necessary, as is reasonable proficiency in Microsoft Windows XP.

 

Cost of the course will be $60.00 payable prior to the first lesson. A CD containing the lessons will be included in the  course fee.

 4 WEEK COURSE ABOUT DIGITAL CAMERAS AND HOW TO USE THEM

With the advent of digital cameras, digital photography has become the new rage.
Digital cameras have almost halved in price since their inception, making them
affordable to purchase one for home. Digital photography is fun, easy, fast and convenient. Instantly see the shots you take. No more film and processing costs and no more paying for “mistakes and surprises”.

In this hands-on course, learn how the digital camera works, what the settings mean, and how to set up a basic camera. Then we show you how to take great photos applying basic photography techniques, picture framing, composition and the best use of available light ( both outdoors and indoors ).
 

We are now taking bookings for this course which commences on Tuesday 28/10/2008 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm

 DAY 1. Learning the settings on your digital camera, what they mean and how they effect the final image.


DAY  2. Field trip to the park near the Southport Swimming pool and the Broadwater adjacent to Australia Fair Shopping Centre.Students will learn to use Reflectors, Scrims, Subtractive Lighting-outdoors,plus Fill Flash & the importance of a Tripod.

 
Day 3 .Taking available light portraits using your own camera.


 Day 4 .Introduction to Macro-  Close – Up  photography Our team till show you how to retouch and improve your images that you have made during the course, using your own graphic program and answer any questions you may have

Excel 2007 Introductory Course

Seniors OntheNet invites members to a hands-on Microsoft Office Excel 2007 course to run on Wednesday afternoons commencing Oct. 29, 2008. The lessons will run from 1pm to 3pm for five successive Wednesdays. To deliver the course we need a minimum of four members and a maximum of nine. If you own a Laptop with Excel 2007 installed, you may bring it to the classes and use your own computer. If you plan to do this, please inform reception when making your booking.

 Excel is a Microsoft Office application based around the concept of a spreadsheet. It is very good for mathematical problems, creating and printing tables and charts, and simple databases. Members who would like to become more skilled in these areas will need to have some working knowledge of Windows and a basic understanding of, and interest in, simple mathematics.

At the completion of the course you should be able to set up and keep track of your investment portfolio, create and print tables and work out your son’s mortgage repayments – and hopefully many other things. Lesson notes and exercises are distributed throughout the course.  As a part of the course some 16 sample workbooks are provided on a CD (or other removable media if supplied) that can be used as examples, as templates for your own requirements, and to check your work. 

These lessons are prepared for Microsoft Office Excel 2007. If you are using an older/ earlier version of Excel, this course may not be appropriate for you. Older versions use different looking menus and commands, though the spreadsheets are essentially the same. This is not a conversion course from an older Excel to Excel 2007 though, if you have used older versions of Excel, these lessons will help you to use Excel 2007 successfully.
