Glenys Mandarano
Office Manager
Seniors OntheNet invites members
to a hands-on Microsoft Office Excel 2007 course
to run on Wednesday afternoons commencing Oct.
29, 2008. The lessons will run from 1pm to 3pm
for five successive Wednesdays. To deliver the
course we need a minimum of four members and a
maximum of nine. If you own a Laptop with Excel
2007 installed, you may bring it to the classes
and use your own computer. If you plan to do
this, please inform reception when making your
booking.
Excel is a Microsoft Office
application based around the concept of a
spreadsheet. It is very good for mathematical
problems, creating and printing tables and
charts, and simple databases. Members who would
like to become more skilled in these areas will
need to have some working knowledge of Windows
and a basic understanding of, and interest in,
simple mathematics.
At the completion of the course
you should be able to set up and keep track of
your investment portfolio, create and print
tables and work out your son’s mortgage
repayments – and hopefully many other things.
Lesson notes and exercises are distributed
throughout the course. As a part of the course
some 16 sample workbooks are provided on a CD
(or other removable media if supplied) that can
be used as examples, as templates for your own
requirements, and to check your work.
These lessons are prepared for
Microsoft Office Excel 2007. If you are using an
older/ earlier version of Excel, this course may
not be appropriate for you. Older versions use
different looking menus and commands, though the
spreadsheets are essentially the same. This is
not a conversion course from an older Excel to
Excel 2007 though, if you have used older
versions of Excel, these lessons will help you
to use Excel 2007 successfully.
Your
tutor will be Ted Wilkes.
The
course, including notes and CD, will cost
members $60 payable prior to the first lesson.
Please Phone Office at 55915766 for details.
